Global Warming....Hah. I remember warmer winters when I was a kid. Heck, its always been warming some, the Savannah River froze over during the nineteenth century. Blocks of ice could be cut from the river and stored in your icebox with a little hay during the winter months. And that was in Georgia. I also remember ponds freezing over during the winters in Middle Georgia, along with some blizzards and 3 foot snows that stayed for weeks (1973).
The climatologists haven't seen a good volcanic eruption yet to change the weather drastically to a cooler climate.
It is not historically accurate to claim that CO2 produced by humans causes global warming. More CO2 and S04 can be spewed from a large volcanic eruption than humans can produce in a lifetime. We are no competition to the Earth. And if it's getting warmer, what's wrong with that? The earth has seen more ice ages and warming trends than anyone alive has experienced.
What would anyone talk about if it wasn't for the weather? It's a great ice-breaker for a multicultural conversation. Everyone knows about weather (rain, ice, cold, wind)
Garden preparation is around the corner...March/April.
